Course Overview

This nationally recognised course is tailored for educators, childcare workers and anyone working in an education and care setting. Learn to respond confidently to a range of first aid emergencies, with training aligned to the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909, this course includes:

HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

In this practical course, you’ll learn how to:

Safely manage first aid incidents involving children, infants and adults
Provide CPR and use an AED (defibrillator)
Manage asthma, anaphylaxis, choking, bleeding, fractures, sprains, and envenomation
Follow action plans and report incidents to emergency services, parents or carers
Understand the psychological impact of emergencies and how to support children emotionally
Complete documentation and debrief effectively

Course Location and Duration

We come to you! This course is delivered onsite at your workplace, gym, studio, aged care facility, childcare centre, factory school or home anywhere on the Gold Coast and surrounding region, from Coomera to Coolangatta and everywhere in between, including: Southport, Robina, Burleigh Heads, Helensvale, Broadbeach, Varsity Lakes, and Palm Beach.

This blended course includes a required online e-learning module, which can be completed at your own pace and convenience prior to the session (this takes roughly 4 hours). The face-to-face component can be completed in minimum time of around 1 hour.

Entry Requirements

Participants must:

Be physically capable of performing 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin on the floor
Have access to a device and internet for online components

Additional Info

Renewal
It is recommended that Child First Aid be renewed every 36 months to stay current and confident. The CPR component has a recommended renewal every 12 months.
